MDaemon maintenance releaseMorning folks, just a quick one to let you know Alt-N Technologies have just released an update for MDaemon Messaging Server and it includes some highly recommended security updates among other things. Those other things... In 14.0.2 you'll find a raft of tweaks and improvements along with a couple of minor branding changes. The more observant of you may notice that WebAdmin is now referred to as "MDaemon Remote Administration" and ComAgent is now the "WorldClient Instant Messenger". You'll also find some usability tweaks in Worldclient such as the ability to nickname favourite folders.

SecurityPlus promoAre you an MDaemon user and still wasting time dealing with spam email? Now is a great time to take SecurityPlus for a test drive as Alt-N Technologies are offering 20% off all NEW licences until the end of June 2014 (discount applied automatically during checkout).

It's a bit of a niche technical one this but as I've had several reports of it recently I wanted to share this one with you in case it helps. MDaemon and Windows Performance MonitorOut of the box MDaemon has some very detailed logging and real-time statistics built into the application. In this post I'll show you how to learn more about what a server's doing using the free Performance Monitor feature in Windows.

Zen Software's LinkedIn page I recently ran a survey among our partner program members (all IT support companies) to find out which, if any, of the various social channels they use 'frequently', to help us understand how best to keep in touch. Of the 324 respondents the results were as follows:-

Ok brace yourself for a long ol' set of release notes! This minor MDaemon update really does highlight the many hours our friends at the Texas-based developer Alt-N Technologies are putting in to make MDaemon the best mail platform out there for small businesses. This one is mainly 'dotting the I's' as it were but there's an awful lot of them! Also if you've picked up one of the newer Android devices recently, you'll no doubt be pleased to hear that you can now connect it quite happily via ActiveSync thanks to the compatibility fix for KitKat.
