When vendors announce plans for all singing, all dancing, shiny new reseller incentives, there’s a good chance you’ll be thinking one or both of these things…
- Why bother – one of the big companies will win
- I bet this will be a headache to understand
You’d be right. They are common issues. However, we can assure you that neither apply to this one!
Ok brace yourself for a long ol’ set of release notes! This minor MDaemon update really does highlight the many hours our friends at the Texas-based developer Alt-N Technologies are putting in to make MDaemon the best mail platform out there for small businesses.
This one is mainly ‘dotting the I’s’ as it were but there’s an awful lot of them! Also if you’ve picked up one of the newer Android devices recently, you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear that you can now connect it quite happily via ActiveSync thanks to the compatibility fix for KitKat.
Interested in MailStore but too busy to install the trial? Struggling to fit in a live webinar?
A close second are the recorded versions I post from time to time on the Zen Software Youtube Channel like this one, entitled an Introduction to MailStore.
No, you won’t get to ask me lots of awkward questions via the live chat which is obviously a shame (!), but it is better suited to skimming through over a coffee if you’re flat-out taking care of the day job.
Leading Microsoft Exchange resource site, MSExchange.org, has again awarded MailStore Server with their best accolade in a recent review conducted by Exchange expert, J. Peter Bruzzese.
Bruzzese conducted a thorough test evaluation of version 8.0.3 and was particularly impressed by how quickly and easily the software could be installed and configured.
He also went on to praises the fact there’s support for Exchange Server and Outlook 2013, the additional compliance options (email preview, retention policies, legal hold and auditor access), and the wide-ranging options for access via Web Access, Mobile Web Access for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry.
He labels MailStore Server “an all-in-one solution” and with his closing statement concluded “I was impressed with it in the past and I’m equally pleased with it now.”.

A new whitepaper is now available for download on our website.
The document compares email archiving using the integrated capabilities offered by certain Office 365 plans to email archiving with MailStore Server from Office 365.
One of the benefits we offer to registered resellers of our email archiving software, MailStore, is a free online product certification course followed by an official accreditation for those that complete it successfully.
The idea of the course is to improve confidence in selling and supporting the software, and benefits include an increased level of discount for a period and official logo for use on the site.
Medhurst IT are one such company who decided to put a number of their staff forward and our colleagues over at German developer MailStore took a few moments to ask them about their experiences.
It’s quite likely you’re aware that legislation exists surrounding email retention, but do you know which of the many regulations apply to you and your business?
Some industries are subject to more regulations than others, but nearly all companies are affected by some form of legal compliance.
Let’s look at some of the main legal requirements that are likely to affect your clients…
As I’m sure you’re aware by now, I run regular live webinars for anyone new to our products who’d like to be shown around without necessarily having to install a trial. They are however, during the day, so I thought I’d share a recorded version for those of you who might like to take a look at your leisure…
This one’s a general overview of MDaemon to begin with and then I drill down into a walkthrough of the product and its various interfaces.
I hope you find it useful, don’t forget, for a full list of future webinar dates and to book your place on any of them please click here
In this latest case study, Phil Antill, IT & Facilities Manager at Winbro, kindly took the time to talk to us about his archiving requirements and succesful implementation of MailStore.
The Leicestershire-based engineering company initially installed MailStore to aid with a mail server migration, however it’s now being used to automatically manage their greatly-reduced mailbox sizes.
Even with the best intentions, I know it can sometimes be difficult to squeeze in attending our live webinars during the working day so for convenience I’ve just uploaded a recorded version of the one I ran last week demonstrating a MailStore installation.
In this video I show you how straightforward it is to get MailStore up and running on an Exchange box, so it’s ideal if you’re completely new to the product and also useful if you’re planning on installing MailStore imminently and could do with a refresher.
